Just can't get enough of the stuff to come out of Nasty Pig - you'll soon see me sporting this T (but not for the Black Party ... I have something much hotter planned for that ... also from the Nasty Pig). Need some last minute wardrobe choices? Check them out.
Is it wrong to want to go to hell? (or at least to want to submit to STH? Buy your copy today, it's worth it.
Thank god Nasty Pig has some good ideas for Halloween costumes. These sure beat dressing up like Sarah Palin ... and they are more likely to get you laid.

What's not to lust after? We just adore Riva's design for this limited edition Cruiser Bag. And you know how much we already love Veuve Clicquot - it's the only champagne we'll drink.
As you remember, Illeana Douglas is a huge favorite of mine. Really, anyone that can make me laugh as much as she does has a permanent place in my heart.

I've gotten wind that Illeana is working on a new show set in IKEA (oh, come on, you know you love their swedish meatballs). It sounds like Ms. Douglas will be playing an employee at the Burbank IKEA, and I can only imagine the trouble that she'll get into there. Let's just hope she knows how to use a hex wrench.
And let's hope she's not as creepy as the IKEA closet people.
I am both excited and nervous to see the NY screening on Thursday for Julian Jarrold's remake of Brideshead Revisited. (You, too, can RSVP for an advance screening)
I'm a huge fan of the novel
Matthew Goode, Ben Whishaw, and Hayley Atwell have some big shoes to fill ... and I reserve the right to judge. The movie already has one strike against it: the weak tagline in the promo above. "Privilege. Ambition. Desire. At Brideshead Everything Comes at a Price." Let's hope the movie isn't made for the Gossip Girl
I'm also a bit worried that the gay undertones will be ironed out. At least from the advertising I've seen so far, this isn't a big part of the movie.
All that said. I'm super excited to finally get to see this. I've been waiting for this movie since stumbling across the IMDB page a couple of years ago. Woo hoo.
*I'm sure no one else will come up with that bit of wittiness in this entry title.

I am happy to report that I was able to snag an iPhone on Friday after standing in line for many ... many ... way too many hours. Somehow, the Apple staff at the 14th St location still managed to be happy and energetic even tho it was 12:30am by the time I got up to the 3rd floor. I don't know what they were on to stay that happy ... but I want some. Mr. Jobs, can you send me some?

Heavenly music to our ears. Suck brings us this unique leather hymn book cover for your ipod
Today at CES, Nokia unveiled a brand-spanking new device - the N93i. What caught my attention (besides how good the damn thing looks) is the fact that you can post photos and videos from the mobile device to your blog through Vox (anyone heard of them?)
Now, I know I've been a bit slow with the posts recently ... but I've been thinking about how to reinvent certainDISASTER and I think video might be the way to go. If I get my hands on one of these, the boys over at GOOL better watch out - think: nightlife, interviews, the works.
If you haven't already noticed, I like to think big.

My current wallet has begun the slow, painful process called 'falling apart', and I'm in the market for a new one. Queerty pointed me to the Slimmy, however, I'm a bit concerned that it's so slim that my money will magically disappear (must like all prospects for meeting a suitable boyfriend already have). Anyone have experience with this thing?
It looks pretty hot, red's my color, and I'm dying to try one. (It's available direct from Koyono for $39 bucks)
My favorite christmas present this year came wrapped in this Tom of Finland
wrapping paper (mine was black, though, not orange).

You can pick some up for yourself at Leatherpost.com. And don't worry - you don't have to use pink ribbon (in fact, I would advice against it).

Looking for that perfect holiday gift? D. recently turned me on to Spring Plum Tea available from MarieBelle retail locations. This tea comes wrapped in a tight ball which blooms in your cup as it steeps. What a surprise! Not only does this special tea taste amazing, but it's packaged in a signature tin that looks ... well ... like the tea cost a lot (which it does).

You can also find Aztec Hot Chocolate (Yum! Makes me think of Chocolat
), boxed chocolates, and other special gifts.
If you're in NYC and want to sample some of the goodies, head to the Cacao Bar in SoHo (accessed through the rear of the MarieBelle shop).

After holding out for way too long, I finally broke down on Friday and ran to the Apple Store to purchase the new iPod Nano
.

Although the line was quite long, it moved quickly - and I was able to practice my math. In the 15 minutes it took for me to get through the line, I estimated that with 8 registers in the store, they were selling about 4 of the babies every minute. Talk about a cash cow! The process was the following:
Step: up to the cash register.
Say: (in my case) 2 GB white, please (always remember to be polite)
Swipe: credit card
Sign: credit card receipt
Accept: bag containing the cute, yet powerful, box of music-listening-goodness.
Do not (I repeat, do not): ask if headphone are included. It just confuses the process, slows things down, and makes everyone laugh at you. (Hey, it's my first iPod, how would I know?).
Upon arrival home, I was a bit horrified to find out that the iPod nano really doesn't work very well with USB 1.1 (which is, of course, what my computer uses given that it's over 2 years old). Although the tech specs on the apple site imply that USB 1.1 is fine (USB 2 is recommended), it's been kinda slow ... and I'm not even transferring a Deborah Cox remix!
Luckily, I have an extra PCI slot on my G4 tower and have purchased a USB 2 PCI Card
for around 10 bucks. Even though I'm not thrilled that I have to buy new equipment for my computer, I've come to realize that it's not that bad. Update: OK, so the card didn't actually work (i.e., don't buy that card to use with your nano).
Now, I just need to decide if I'm going to get the lanyard headphones

or the red armband

... or perhaps both! Time to rock on ... after I get a song loaded onto the iPod, that is.
Update: The above USB 2 card works in my G4 Mac ... but doesn't work with the iPod nano. You'd think that Apple would at least let us know that the nano doesn't work with all USB 2 cards.

The future is now, people, and the robots have invaded (and no, we aren't talking about Dick Cheney). The 1st Annual Robot Parade is being held on September 18th and promises to be loads of fun. All robots are required to be 'human and robot friendly', so you don't need to worry about any Isaac Asimov
'I, Robot
' evil stuff happening.
Check it out:

Leave it to Jonathan Adler to design the perfect NY housewarming gift.

I've already got these down on my christmas list. They'll go right on my 'snack shelf' in my office.
