Toes of a Snail

Only four days?!! Clear those busy social schedules and go see what may well be some of the best dance you'll see in NYC this season. You think I'm kidding? I'm not.

Finally back from a two-month commission in Cuba, Misnomer Dance Theater presents the World Premiere of Toes of a Snail with live music by rock composer Rob Erickson. Rock on! If you didn't already know, Chris Elam's company is my favorite in the city ... and he lists among my top five choreographers of all time. The works are indescribable. Intense. The kind of stuff that leaves you giggling one moment and feeling like you have to sob the next without knowing exactly why. So don't miss your chance to see some of his new work that's been influenced by his recent time in Cuba, Turkey, Brazil, and Indonesia.

Oh, and if you don't want to take my word for it, here's what the New York Times has to say about Mr. Elam:
A true orginal. One of the most individualistic of modern dance voices today.
Wow. It doesn't get much better than that.
